Photo Restoration

More and more people are taking an interest in their family history. Historical Societies are spreading rapidly and are having a dramatic impact on young and old alike. Many of these societies request local residents to come forward with old family photographs that they in turn can put on display.

Unfortunately many of the old photographs are either stained or damaged in some way.

 I take great satisfaction in restoring old or damaged photographs. I set out an example of such work below with a BEFORE and AFTER look at what can be achieved.  I can restore damaged photographs, remove blemishes, enlarge, copy and even create montages of your treasured memories.

Family photography has become so easy in the last 20 years and yet many of us would be hard pressed to find a negative of a favourite photo to replace a damaged print or make a copy for another family member. We have stacks of Photograph Albums, shelves full of boxes of slides or negatives and most of the time it is all gathering dust and being damaged. Digitising your collection will not only safeguard it for yourself, it will be safeguarded for future generations. Old prints are even harder to replace so it makes sense to protect them by making digital copies, saving them onto CD's. Photo enhancement is also done at the time of scanning if requested. This means the removal of scratches, blemishes, fading or even damage caused by damp.
